Here’s a story you might relate to…
Last January, I set out to get back on track with my fitness after having my first child—a goal that honestly felt overwhelming after months of being unable to exercise due to a medical condition that had me on modified bed rest. I wanted to fuel my body with healthy, nourishing foods that not only supported my recovery but also gave my baby the nutrients they needed during nine months of breastfeeding. On top of that, recovering from a c-section brought its own set of challenges, and life certainly didn’t hit the pause button—not with a little one to care for and a business to run from home! I knew it wouldn’t be easy, but I was determined and ready to give it my all.
But then, a month and a half in, reality hit me hard. I was nowhere near on track with even half my goals. Between sleepless nights, navigating breastfeeding, and running a business while caring for a newborn, everything felt like it was slipping through my fingers. My fitness plans were stalled because exhaustion took over, and the idea of whipping up nutritious meals was paralyzing amid the chaos. I was frustrated, overwhelmed, and honestly ready to give up.

It’s no wonder we expect instant results. The truth is, though, REAL change doesn’t happen overnight.
I had to remind myself that progress, not perfection, was the goal. And that’s when everything started to shift — when I stepped back, gave myself some space, and re-focused on what really mattered. I was able to balance my big goals, focusing on smaller, actionable steps.
That meant simplifying things and honing in on one focus at a time. My first priority? Getting back to consistent, healthy meals. My “quick win”? Prepping freezer meals just like I did before my baby was born — aka Instant Pot dump meals to the rescue!
For you, it might look a little different. Maybe it’s waking up 15 minutes earlier to squeeze in a quick workout or adding an extra veggie to your plate at dinner. It doesn’t have to be perfect or complicated. It just has to move you a little closer to where you want to be.
The key is finding balance. Quick wins keep you excited and motivated, but your long-term vision—that’s what keeps you grounded and focused when motivation is low.
